About The Children

Children waiting in Georgia for forever homes are both boys and girls. Children living with special needs are between the ages of 18 months and 5 years typically. Sibling groups and children with less special needs referred for adoption are generally 8 years and older. The needs of children vary from mild to moderate.

Eligibility

  • The parents must be a minimum of 16 years and a maximum of 45 years older than the child they are adopting. USCIS requires parents to be at least 25 years of age.  Please contact CHI for all the specific criteria or go to our information page

Travel and Time Frame

Travel

Adopting from Georgia is a one-trip process about 3-4 weeks long.

Time Frame

The time between travel and referral is approximately 4-6 months.
